Prevalence and distribution of aflatoxin contamination in groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in Mali, West Africa
This review analyzes the prevalence and distribution of aflatoxins in the groundnut value chain in Mali and suggests timely interventions that can help to minimize health-related hazards and exposure to aflatoxin contaminated food.

Assessing the genetic diversity of 48 groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) genotypes in the Guinea savanna agro-ecology of Ghana, using microsatellite-based markers
By demonstrating that SSR-based markers are discriminatory in discerning variations between and among groundnut lines even where the level of variation was low, this study suggests that microsatellite-based markers represent a useful tool for dissecting genetic variations in cultivated crops, especially groundnut.

Potential benefits of drought and heat tolerance in groundnut for adaptation to climate change in India and West Africa
This study used the crop growth simulation model for groundnut (CROPGRO-Groundnut model) to quantify the potential benefits of incorporating drought and heat tolerance and yield-enhancing traits into commonly grown cultivar types at sites in India, Mali, and Niger.

Selection of intermittent drought tolerant lines across years and locations in the reference collection of groundnut
The results presented in this paper show a close interaction between environmental conditions and the genotypic response to intermittent drought, suggesting the need to carefully choose environments that truly represent target environments.

Breeding peanut for resistance to Aflatoxin contamination at ICRISAT
The research presented in this paper suggests that transgenic resistance against fungal infection and aflatoxin production in combination with conventional breeding efforts may lead to the development of agronomically superior peanuts that are free of aflatoxin contamination.
