Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA) Success Story
The Tropical Legumes projects identified strategic partnerships as a way to reach women farmers. In northern Ghana, to address women’s limited access to finance, the initiatives worked with small-scale community financial institutions called Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) to extend loans to women farmers. This video tells the story of the success of the VSLAs in Ghana.

Modeling groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) performance under drought conditions
Erratic rainfall is often a limiting factor in the semi-arid regions where most groundnut cultivation occurs. Ensuring availability of cultivars that possess inherent tolerance to drought stress has become a priority. Field and box experiments were conducted under drought and non-drought conditions to identify physiological and agronomic traits correlated with pod yield.

Evaluation of Selected Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) Lines for Yield and Haulm Nutritive Quality Traits
Groundnut pods and haulms are important sources of income for smallholder farmers in Ghana, with an emerging market for groundnut haulms as livestock feed. A population of 30 groundnut genotypes were evaluated for yield (pod and haulm) and its components as well as good haulm nutritive value.
