Role of fixing nitrogen in common bean growth under water deficit conditions
This article describes a study that measured adaptive traits in N‐fixing bean lines and non-nodulating lines to explore the association of nodulation and symbiotic nitrogen fixation with the expression of traits that confer better adaptation to drought conditions.

Development and evaluation of high-density SNP array (Axiom®CicerSNP Array) for high resolution genetic mapping and breeding applications in chickpea
Screening of whole-genome resequencing data from 429 chickpea lines using the high throughput SNP genotyping platform ‘Axiom® CicerSNP Array’ identified 4.9 million SNPs, from which a subset of 70,463 high-quality nonredundant SNPs was selected using different stringent filter criteria.

Field phenotyping of Soybean roots for drought stress tolerance
The strong association between root and nodule parameters and whole plant productivity demonstrated in this study suggests the potential application of simple root phenotypic markers in screening for drought tolerance in soybean.

Association of nodule performance traits with shoot performance traits of Common Bean under drought stress
The findings presented in this journal article suggest that nodule characteristics and SNF ability should be included with above- and below-ground traits as phenotypic markers in germplasm evaluation and breeding programs aimed at improving drought tolerance in common bean.

Selection of intermittent drought tolerant lines across years and locations in the reference collection of groundnut
The results presented in this paper show a close interaction between environmental conditions and the genotypic response to intermittent drought, suggesting the need to carefully choose environments that truly represent target environments.

Relative importance of common bean attributes and variety demand in the drought areas of Kenya
The findings presented in this study reveal that varietal adaptation to environmental stresses should also strive to reduce cooking time, as well as enhance keeping quality and grain color to improve benefits for the poor. The study argues that prioritizing the improvement of production attributes as a short-term goal seems an efficient strategy when multi-attribute based breeding is a long process.

Characterization of drought-tolerance traits in nodulated soya beans: the importance of maintaining photosynthesis and shoot biomass under drought-induced limitations on Nitrogen metabolism
This study identified phenotypic markers for enhanced drought tolerance in nodulated soya beans. Leaf and nodule parameters were compared in three genotypes: Prima 2000, glyphosate‐resistant A5409RG, and Jackson.
