Access to the Tanzanian Socioeconomic Survey data

The full Tanzanian Socioeconomic Survey 2016–2017 data set has been made available here via an Excel workbook for each of the five key report themes. Each workbook is connected directly to the live data management system to ensure access to the latest data and contains a set of interactive pivot tables and pivot charts.

User guide and supplemental materials

The User Guide contains step-by-step instructions to help you explore the Tanzanian Socioeconomic Survey data. Its aim is to demonstrate the advantages of using Excel to explore and analyse data housed in the live data management system. The focus of this user guide is on connecting to the Cube and creating and modifying pivot tables and pivot charts.

The Measures and Dimensions document lists and describes all values (Measures) and categories (Dimensions) by which this data set can be explored.

The Training Exercises build on the foundations in the User Guide to show you how to create dynamic graphs from pivot tables and more advanced, multi-dimensional pivot tables.

The Data Sampling Methods outline the multi-stage sampling technique that was used to select the 1209 households included in this survey.
